Atlantis Tankers and Bureau Veritas Istanbul once again came together on 15 January to continue a long-standing tradition of sharing fresh fish over dinner. Beyond a strong professional collaboration built over many years, the relationship between the two organizations remains deep and personal, founded on shared maritime values and mutual respect.
Held in the familiar and convivial setting of a traditional Rakı and Fish dinner at Turgut Vidinli, in the heart of Beşiktaş, the gathering formed part of a tradition that has been upheld for over a decade between the two organizations. These occasions have consistently served as an opportunity to strengthen dialogue beyond formal engagements, reinforcing the human dimension behind technical excellence and regulatory partnership.
This year's gathering carried additional significance, as it also marked the takeover of MT ATLANTIS ARTEMIDA, which will be classified under Bureau Veritas. The vessel's continued service under Bureau Veritas Class represents another chapter in the enduring cooperation between the classification society and Atlantis Tankers, underscoring a shared commitment to quality, safety, and operational integrity.
Bureau Veritas was represented by Kubilay Görmen (Crew and Systems Quality Manager), Cafer Tekkan (General Manager), and Serkan Kurtoglu (Ships in Service Quality Manager). Atlantis Tankers / Armona Denizcilik were represented by Marlon Weinstabl (Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer), Lorenz Weinstabl (Chairman of the Board), and Farbod Assadpour (Chief Technical Officer).
Beyond the celebration of this vessel milestone, the evening reflected the enduring nature of a relationship that has evolved over the years from professional cooperation into a valued tradition. Conversations touched on fleet developments, industry challenges, geopolitical uncertainties, and the evolving regulatory landscape, all within an atmosphere that emphasized continuity, partnership, and shared purpose.
As Atlantis Tankers continues to expand and strengthen its fleet, the Group values long-term partnerships with trusted institutions such as Bureau Veritas. These traditions stand as both a reminder and a testament that sustainable success in shipping is built not only on technical standards and compliance, but also on enduring relationships that continue to keep pace with the industry.
