Atlantis Tankers has successfully completed a leadership
visit and the ceremonial takeover of MT SEAWAYS STAR, which has been renamed MT
ATLANTIS AMSTERDAM. The takeover was led by Marlon Kerim Weinstabl, Managing
Director of Atlantis Tankers and Chief Executive Officer of Armona Denizcilik
A.Ş., and confirms the vessel's entry into the Atlantis Tankers fleet following
the completion of the required handover process.
This delivery represents Vessel 2 of 3 Medium Range (MR2)
tankers acquired under Atlantis Tankers' fleet expansion program and continues
the company's structured entry into the MR2 tanker segment. It follows the
recent takeover of the first MR2 vessel, MT ATLANTIS ARTEMIDA (ex MT KOUROS),
and reflects the phased execution of the company's fleet expansion plan.
The ceremonial handover was carried out onboard and included
the participation of shipboard and shore-based company representatives, apart
from honorary guests. The Chief Executive Officer's direct involvement
underscored the importance placed on governance, coordination, and alignment
between vessel leadership and management during key operational milestones.
Following delivery, MT ATLANTIS AMSTERDAM will proceed
through the necessary integration steps under Atlantis Tankers' management
framework, via its in-house technical manager, Armona Denizcilik A.Ş. These
steps include alignment with internal operational procedures, safety and
technical requirements, and crewing arrangements in accordance with company
standards. The remaining MR2 tanker acquired under the same program will be
delivered in due course as part of the planned expansion.
Atlantis Tankers and Armona Denizcilik A.Ş. acknowledge the
collective efforts of all teams involved in completing the takeover, including
shipboard personnel, shore-based staff, and supporting partners. Their
coordination and professionalism contributed to the smooth execution of this
second delivery under the MR2 fleet expansion program.
