Atlantis Tankers Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Sten Herr as Chartering & Operations Manager, marking a strategic strengthening of the company's commercial leadership as it continues to expand its tanker portfolio and operational footprint.
Sten Herr brings more than seven years of tanker chartering experience, spanning small tankers through to MR2 segments, with deep exposure to chemicals and clean petroleum products. His appointment reflects Atlantis Tankers' focus on integrating commercial decision-making with operational execution, reinforcing performance, driving growth, and long-term value creation across the fleet.
Prior to joining Atlantis Tankers, Sten held a chartering role at Maersk Tankers A/S, where he was trading coated and stainless-steel fleets ranging from Small Tankers upto MR's, with a strong focus on niche trades west of Suez.
Before this, Sten worked as a Shipbroker at Eastport Maritime Europe, where he played a key role in developing their spot brokerage for inter-European specialized markets.
Beyond his transactional experience, Sten is recognized for his integrated commercial mindset, viewing chartering and operations as a single, unified function. He brings a practical, performance-driven approach to fleet optimization, focusing on operational efficiency, risk-reward assessment, and incremental value creation across voyages. His leadership style emphasizes team development and commercial awareness at all operational levels, ensuring that both chartering and operations teams work toward shared commercial objectives.
In his new role, Sten Herr will lead the Chartering and Operations function in full, overseeing commercial strategy, operational performance, and market engagement as Atlantis Tankers continues to grow its presence across chemical and oil tanker segments. His appointment supports the company's broad ambition to strengthen internal capabilities, enhance market responsiveness, and build a high-performing commercial organization aligned with international best practices.
