Manila, November 27, 2024 — Armona Denizcilik successfully hosted our 18th Company Run Seminar at the Status Maritime Corporation in Manila, marking the first-ever seminar held in the Philippines. This landmark event engaged our Filipino crew in a full day of learning, collaboration, and professional development. The seminar focused on Human Performance, Safety, and Wellbeing, reinforcing Armona's commitment to excellence and a culture of care, all underpinned by the importance of speaking up.
The seminar began with an introduction and open sharing session, followed by a series of impactful training presentations aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and awareness of the crew. Capt. Gökhan Pehlivan, DPA/Fleet Manager, led an insightful session on Fatigue Management, emphasizing strategies to manage work-related fatigue and minimize stress, ensuring peak performance and safety. Sean Fourie, HSEQ/Training Manager, further stressed the importance of safety standards during his workshop on Working at Height, equipping participants with essential skills to perform tasks safely in elevated positions.
Mid-morning sessions included an interactive Q&A on SIRE 2.0 Questions for Rating & Human Factor, once again facilitated by Capt. Gökhan Pehlivan, which sparked active engagement among participants. Additional topics addressed key operational challenges, such as Disciplinary Procedures & Crew Complaints, presented by Özgür Çetinkaya, Crewing Manager, and the critical topic of Wellbeing on Board, covered by Sean Fourie, underscoring the holistic approach to crew welfare.
