The sun shone brightly at Selah Shipyard on June 1st, 2017, casting a hopeful light on the launch of the Atlantis Alicante, Armona's 10th newbuilding, into the Marmara Sea, despite the events of the previous Thursday.
Similar to the construction process of her sister vessel, the Atlantis Augusta, the Alicante's development progressed smoothly. Frequent management visits and the implementation of lessons learned from the Augusta's delivery ensured an efficient familiarization process.
Armona extends its sincere gratitude to Selah Shipyard and their contractors for their tireless efforts in bringing this momentous occasion to fruition.
We would also like to express our appreciation to our subcontractors, including classification society Bureau Veritas, designers Delta Marine, Akzo Nobel, and MarineLine. Finally, a very special thank you to Armona's own experienced construction and office team, whose dedication and work ethic throughout the construction of both newbuildings serve as a model for the entire company.
With the launch of the Atlantis Alicante, Armona takes a significant step closer to achieving its ambitious goal of 50% fleet growth within a year. This launch marks the expansion of the fleet from 8 vessels to 12.
