At Armona Denizcilik, we've implemented measures to reduce the environmental impact of emissions from our fleet vessels.
Among these measures, the switch to Marine Gas Oil (MGO) has the most significant effect. Compared to Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO), MGO emits fewer air pollutants like sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter.
We've also implemented measures to reduce the amount of fuel burned, further minimizing climate pollutants such as carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide.
This year, we'll complete the application of innovative hull and propeller antifouling coatings across the entire fleet. These coatings replace the previously used, conventional, and toxic biocide antifouling solutions. They provide long-lasting smoothness, resulting in fuel savings of up to 20%. This fuel efficiency improvement is further complemented by instructions to our captains to adopt eco-friendly cruising speeds.
