The bulk of Armona's special survey wave comes to a close, with costs reaching new heights. Beginning in November 2017 and unexpectedly stretching out until October 2019, the special surveys of 10 out of 12 fleet vessels were completed. With no time or budget limits, the management's vision and orders were clear: to prioritize the full restoration of the ships' condition to a level close to that of a new building. On average, a vessel took two months and a million US dollars to complete its special survey.
While a ship's first special survey still shows modest wear and tear, the second and third special surveys leave deeper scars, including wear and tear on machinery, piping, and accommodations. The works carried out included dismantling deck machinery, renewing deck piping, disassembling the main engine, CP propeller, compressors, and generators. All of this was possible thanks to the tireless efforts of our technical team, who led this mission for nearly two years. Management would like to express their gratitude, thanking all team members for their passion and efforts.
