On August 12th, Mr. Marlon Weinstabl, the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Armona Denizcilik, conducted a Top-level Management visit to the Atlantis Augusta, a vessel under the company's management. The visit occurred in Amsterdam during an STS (Ship-to-Ship) loading operation. Mr. Weinstabl took this opportunity to engage with the crew, discussing several critical safety topics and the company's ongoing commitment to excellence. The primary focus was the HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) Campaign for Q3, centered on "Distraction," identified as a root cause in recent incidents, emphasizing the importance of addressing this issue to circumvent similar incidents.
During his discussions, a recent safety incident was highlighted, involving the previous cook pouring a chemical solution into a plastic water bottle, which may have had more severe repercussions. This incident underscored the need for rigorous adherence to safety protocols and the importance of continuous education and awareness among the crew. Further enhancing safety measures, Mr. Weinstabl introduced Safety Flash 05-2024 on Stop Work Authority, which was thoroughly discussed with the crew. This initiative significantly reinforced the “We Care” concept and underlined the company's commitment to the upcoming SIRE 2.0 standards.
In addition to focusing on safety, Mr. Weinstabl addressed the crew's questions about the future direction of the company, providing insights and assurances about its continued growth and success. To improve the onboard experience, particularly for the Filipino crew members, he announced the purchase of a karaoke system and an upcoming HSEQ campaign to gather feedback on preferred food items. This initiative aims to make the crew feel more at home by tailoring food procurement to their preferences.
The visit was well-received by the crew, further strengthening the bond between management and the team onboard Atlantis Augusta. Armona Denizcilik remains committed to supporting its crew and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality across all its operations, reinforcing its dedication to crew welfare and operational excellence.
