Armona Denizcilik's Deputy CEO participated in Shell's Maritime Partners in Safety Conference 2018, held at the Hilton in Rotterdam. The two-day conference featured a series of workshops, informative presentations, and interactive role-plays, all centred on the critical role of top-level management in fostering a culture of safety.
Shell acknowledged a concern that progress toward a "Zero Incident Industry" may have stalled. The conference emphasized the importance of safety leadership, a responsibility that leaders must actively promote. As Graehame Henderson, VP Shipping & Maritime Shell, stated, "Safety starts with you, or it does not." Leaders play a pivotal role in driving behavioral change within their teams, both personally and professionally.
The conference highlighted the "3 R's" as key strategies for achieving sustainable safety improvements: Repetition, Retention, and Recurrence.
Armona's leadership team is committed to becoming safety leaders and coaches within their community. They recognize that genuine care for people is paramount to achieving a safe working environment.
The Armona family ultimately aims to empower all employees to prioritize safety in every aspect of their lives.
