Can brings a multicultural background to the role. Though sometimes referred to as "John" by colleagues, he was born and raised in Istanbul. He completed his high school studies (A-Levels) and university degree (Bachelor of Corporate Communications) in France. Before joining the shipping industry, Can gained experience in various sectors.
At Atlantis Tankers, Can played a key role in setting up the Commercial Management department. In fact, he was our very first employee in the commercial team. After the team's launch in October 2013, Can, then a newcomer, joined as a Tanker Operator. He spent two years gaining extensive operational experience, demonstrating his readiness for a brokerage role. Following that, Can spent another two years working in both Chartering and Operations before focusing solely on chartering for the past five years.
Can possesses a deep understanding of our business and the market. He's an exceptional tanker broker, driven by his outgoing personality and inquisitive nature to continuously learn and grow.
Beyond his passion for his work and motorbikes, Can enjoys sailing, kitesurfing, and various other board sports. He's fluent in English, Turkish, and French.
We're incredibly proud of Can's progress and growth within the company. He's a highly valued member of our team, consistently embodying our values with his unwavering loyalty and ethical approach.
