24th October 2013, Istanbul - Armona Denizcilik A/S was founded by Lorenz Weinstabl, 52, who holds a Master's degree in Engineering and has over 25 years of experience in the shipping business. Lorenz Weinstabl is also the director of Atlantis Tankers, a group of companies owned by German citizens Marlon and Claudia Weinstabl.
The company operates a fleet of eight Chemical/Oil IMO2 tankers, categorized as "small tankers", which operate in the short sea shipping trade. Four of these vessels are eight years old and have a capacity of 3500 dwt, while the remaining four, built in 2009/2010, have a capacity of 6400 dwt. All vessels are separately registered companies in Douglas-Isle of Man and sail under the Maltese flag.
Armona Denizcilik A/S was founded in 2002 and was initially engaged in vessel construction for Atlantis Tankers until 2010. In 2009, the company expanded into technical and crewing management and took over control of the Atlantis Tankers fleet from its predecessor, V-Ship. In 2012, Armona partnered with London-based Borealis Maritime, adding a portion of their fleet to Armona's technical management.
IBEX Maritime, the first commercial manager of Atlantis Tankers, was acquired by Uni-Chartering in 2012. However, Atlantis Tankers has now terminated its agreement with Uni-Chartering. As of November 1st, 2013, the commercial management of the fleet will be led by the Atlantis Tankers Group.
Atlantis Tankers & Armona Denizcilik A/S would like to express their gratitude to both IBEX Maritime and Uni-Chartering for their many years of cooperation.
