On 10th September 2024, Marlon Kerim Weinstabl, Chief Technical Officer at Armona Denizcilik A.Ş. and Director at Atlantis Tankers Group, delivered an insightful presentation during a webinar organized by ICEX Spain in collaboration with the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Ankara.The webinar, titled "Türkiye, a Rising Logistics Hub: Challenges and Opportunities for the Sector 2024," focused on the evolving logistics landscape in Turkey and explored potential collaborations and investments for Spanish companies.
The session was introduced by Sayeste Ekinci, Deputy Market Analyst at the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Ankara, who provided an overview of the Turkish economy and its transport and logistics sector, emphasizing the bilateral relations between Spain and Turkey. Alongside Marlon Kerim Weinstabl, Nilhan Deger, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors at MED Lojistik A.Ş., also presented.
Marlon Kerim Weinstabl's presentation centred on the maritime trade routes between Turkey and Spain, with a specific focus on chemical cargo movements. Using Atlantis Tankers Group as a practical case study, Mr. Weinstabl demonstrated how Turkish companies are playing a pivotal role in maritime logistics in Spain. Atlantis Tankers' success in navigating these routes and seizing business development opportunities served as a compelling example of the strong business potential between the two nations.
Nilhan Deger complemented this with a broader analysis of Turkey's economic landscape, strategic geographical position, and its role as a key logistics hub for the region. He discussed foreign investments in Turkish ports and the opportunities awaiting Spanish businesses.
