At Atlantis/Armona, we have a long history of rising to challenges and building resilience in times of adversity. This commitment was evident when the global outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) reached Turkey.
Our top and senior management team took immediate action to protect both office staff and onboard crew. Within seven days of the first case being detected in Turkey, we implemented a comprehensive Contingency Plan.
The plan included mandatory work-from-home arrangements for all office staff. Additionally, internal inspections, superintendent visits, and all in-person meetings and training programs were suspended.
Onboard our vessels, equally stringent and prompt safety measures were implemented. Crew members were instructed to follow strict protocols outlined in our COVID-19 Risk Assessment and Outbreak Management Plan. These protocols emphasize maintaining the highest hygiene levels, utilizing essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), isolating those with symptoms, frequent handwashing, practicing social distancing, and refraining from disembarking.
Temperature checks were also implemented for any external representatives boarding the vessels. Entry was denied to anyone exhibiting signs of illness.
To ensure the well-being of our crew and prevent further spread of the virus, all vessels were stocked with a three-month supply of provisions, masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, cleaning detergents, and thermometers. Onboard services were also minimized and subject to management approval.
Crew changeovers were limited, resulting in extended contract periods for officers and engineers. To support our crew during this challenging time, we provided coronavirus training and issued a series of safety flashes and campaigns. These resources addressed topics such as managing pandemic anxiety, maintaining hygiene standards, and promoting positive mental health.
These proactive measures were implemented to safeguard the health and well-being of all our employees, prevent the spread of the virus within our community, and ensure continued business operations. We wish you and your loved ones good health and look forward to a safe return to our normal routines at the office and onboard our vessels.
