...and it's not all about ships. The COVID-19 Pandemic with numerous waves and lockdowns resulted in more free time, giving our CEO the opportunity to relive his passion for a Beetle he's been driving ever since his university stay in Munich.
During the 18-month restoration carried out by Lorenz Weinstabl in his workshop, the chassis was separated from the body, and all parts were completely dismantled. Thanks to our seafarers who were disembarking in ARA ports and the generous care of our agents' Dynamic, a steady flow of parts was shipped to Istanbul to maintain the reconditioning process. This Beetle is a 1972 VW 1302LS Cabriolet built by Karmann, and the latest research indicates its origins may trace back to Ing. Josef Ganz, rather than the official version crediting Ferdinand Porsche.
