The 6240 dwt MT Rekon, built in 2013 at Selay Shipyard, will join Atlantis Tankers' fleet. Owned by a German-Turkish partnership between Seyfullah Inan and Metin Çağdaş, it's their company's sole vessel. They've entrusted Atlantis with full management services, encompassing both the ship and their company's investments.
Prior to joining Atlantis, MT Rekon spent three years under bareboat charter with Navoil in Singapore, which underwent liquidation in November 2016.
"The vessel perfectly complements our fleet portfolio," Lorenz Weinstabl remarked during an internal coordination meeting before signing the contract on January 20th, 2017. The MarineLine coated tanker is currently making its way back from the Far East to the Mediterranean. Following inspections and repairs, the Maltese-flagged vessel will commence trading operations.
