We are delighted to share that Captain Farbod Assadpour, our Chief Technical Officer, proudly represented both Atlantis Tankers and Armona Denizcilik at the 60th Independence Anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Malta.
The prestigious event was held on September 18, 2024, at the CVK Park Bosphorus Hotel and attended by numerous foreign ambassadors, consulate representatives, and distinguished guests. As operators of Maltese-flagged vessels, this occasion was particularly special for us. Malta's strategic role in global shipping and its long-standing maritime heritage have always aligned with our own values.
The celebration commenced with the national anthems of Malta and Turkey, symbolizing the strong ties between the two nations. Speeches were delivered by Malta's Consul General in Istanbul, Walter Mallia, and the First Secretary and Deputy Head of Mission of the Maltese Embassy, Kathleen Vella Mamo. They highlighted the depth of political and economic relations and the warm friendship shared between our countries. Notably, last year a street in Malta was named "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk," reflecting the mutual respect and admiration between Malta and Turkey.
Malta's Minister of Economy, Silvio Schembri, also graced the event with his presence. The evening provided an excellent opportunity for networking and discussing potential steps to strengthen commercial relations in the near future. It was an honor to celebrate such an important milestone for a country that plays a vital part in our operations.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Consul General Walter Mallia and his wife, Anne Mallia, for their gracious invitation and hospitality.
Here's to the Republic of Malta and its continued success in the international maritime industry. Happy Independence Day!
