The 12th Company Run Seminar, held on the rooftop lounge of Armona Denizcilik's office on November 26th and 27th, 2019, welcomed over 60 participants.
The event kicked off with an opening speech by CEO Lorenz Weinstabl. He provided a retrospective of the company's achievements in the past year and outlined both short- and mid-term goals. Mr. Weinstabl also addressed the potential impact of unmanned ship designs on the seafaring industry. He encouraged participants to maintain high performance levels and strive for excellence to counteract any potential for redundancy.
Expanding on global challenges, Mr. Weinstabl highlighted the urgency of environmental issues such as resource depletion, economic stagnation, and climate change. He urged all participants to develop environmental awareness, use resources responsibly, and spread this message within their communities.
Deputy CEO Marlon Weinstabl followed with a speech emphasizing the value of Shell's Maritime Partners in Safety Programme. He stressed that understanding the concept of resilience and its transformative effects had become a cornerstone of Armona Denizcilik's corporate culture. He expressed gratitude for the seafarers' engagement and contributions. Menduh Aydin (Training S/I) then acknowledged that there were still areas for improvement.
The seminar continued with presentations from the DPA and CTO. The DPA reviewed the current year's events and outlined expectations for 2020. The CTO discussed plans to invite Senior Officers to the office for procedural assessments. He also provided updates on the implementation of the Global Sulphur Cap and emphasized the importance of ongoing training.
